How can it be 15 months already?!?!?

As of last Saturday, our little E has been with us for 15 months.  Boy how the time has flown.  We are trying to cherish every minute we get to live life with her, but boy some days are very, very hard.  I am ready for the terrible two's to be over and done with!

E is as happy as ever and is even more happy when she gets her way.  We have entered the world of temper tantrums and crabby bums when she doesn't get exactly what she wants and when she wants it.  What she wants usually involves being outside 24/7 and chewing on everything she can get her little hands on.

In the last 2 months, since my last post, not much has changed.  E weights a little more, is a little taller, and is getting more teeth.  She had pretty much all her 1st molars in by age 1, and now is working on all 4 canines at once it seems.  Once those finish we'll be ready for those 2nd molars and then we are done with baby teeth.  I can't wait!  Here are her 15mo stats:

Weight: 20lbs 12oz (43%)
Height: 31in (60%)
Head Cir: 18in (50%)

Life has been busy the last couple months and the last two weeks specifically.  E and I went on a trip to DC for a day, then we flew to Detroit to meet up with Grammies and Grandpa, and then we flew back to LA.  Then on Sunday I flew back out to DC for a week and came home to welcome my brother (C), his wife (V) and their daughter (A) to our house.  Good thing Grandma and A were able to get the house ready because CV&A had beat me there, even though they were driving down from Utah.  Then Grandpa flew in that night and even with Grandma and Grandpa staying in a hotel our house was bursting at the seams... In a very good way!

The girls, V and I got to go on a run in the morning, then to the beach on Saturday, and then off to Disneyland that night.  We were at Disneyland for two wonderful days.  It was lots of fun to spend at the park and with family.  It was sad to see CV&A leave for Utah on that final night, but we'll see them again for Thanksgiving, so it was even sadder to say goodbye to Grammies and Grandpa on Tuesday morning.  Tuesday we went home and tried to get settled back in.  Everybody took naps and then it was off to E's Pedi appointment.  She got two vaccine shots (DTAP & MMR) and her Flu shot, so three total, but so far other than some slight swelling in her leg, she seems to be doing just fine.

Here are some pictures:
This is one of my favorites

E's first ponytail

Practicing her gym moves at home with daddy

E loves to climb on everything

Pushing her jogging stroller/bike trailer around the driveway

Waiting to board the plane to take us from DCA to DTW

Our trip to the beach with Grammies, A, and E... It was the first time she loved and wanted to go in the water.

Saturday morning run for the mommies and carriage ride for the princesses and their doggies

E loved the splash park in Bugs Land (Part of CA Adventure)

What better ride than Grandpas shoulders in Fantasyland

E loved the ride cars and wanted to keep sitting with Grandpa on the Mr. Toads Wild Ride car.

Sitting on the horsey on the carousel all by her self

Hitching a ride in A's stroller... E was jealous of her cool steering wheel and gear shifter

E picked out her own pumpkin this year

To commemorate the event the Space Shuttle flew over LA a bunch of times before landing at LAX for the last time.  It is to be part of the LA Science Center.  We can't wait to go once it opens up.

More pictures to come once I get copies of all the good pictures V and Grammies took.  They are much better photographers than I so I left the good photo taking to them. :)

13 months, waaaaa, wait, what happened to 12???

::WARNING:: This will be a picture heavy update! :)

E turns 13 months on Monday, so this will be her 13 month update, LOL, I am very delinquent on the 12 month update so I am combining them.

Life has hit the fast lane in more ways than one...  But let's rewind a little bit back to the middle of June.  My last update was on the 14th so we'll pick up from there...

E is more curious than a cat, she loves to help me cook in more ways than one. Here is her impression of a potato in my potato drawer.

She has developed a love for balloons when we were given a free kids balloon at Chic-fil-a. (Read into that what you will, I refuse to have my food choices become a platform for my political or religious beliefs)

She was finally able to fit into a helmet, so we got her one, and started going on bike rides

She loves to help sort the mail and taste it too!

Then on the 29th of June we celebrated A's birthday and we made a chocolate cookie cake, which we all enjoyed.

Some of us enjoying multiple times when E found the cake in the fridge and, bonus, found a gap in the foil... Yummy, cake for breakfast!

For the 4th of July, since we busy getting ready for E's first birthday party, we spent the day at home and went to the little park down the street.

The Thursday before her birthday we received a package from Nana with a bunch of birthday presents for E.  She got a doll house, a mermaid, some new clothes, and a bunch of fun stuff from Nana.

E turned 1 on Friday, June 6th, and we had a family celebration and E enjoyed a candle in ice cream and of course... Opening birthday presents!

We opened a birthday card from Nana

Daddy got E her first Barbie doll, the ballerina barbie since E still loved walking on her tippy toes.

Grandma and Grandpa Miller got her a Muppet WhatNot, which is a Muppet doll you get to dress up and can puppeteer.  Daddy and E have a lot of fun playing with our yet unnamed Muppet friend.

Then on Saturday the 7th we had an awesome pool backyard BBQ party to celebrate her birthday.  Auntie Lauren helped with the decorations and made the day extra special!

She wore a special birthday dress Grandma Miller had gotten her that I save special for the occasion but this is the only photo we have of her in the dress.  :)

She had a great time playing in the pool with her friends.

Her beautiful smash cake

E thinking "now Mom, what am I supposed to do with this?"

"Ah, I get it now, eat it!"

E started a high chair strike sometime the week of her birthday so she ate and loved her cake so much more on my lap.  I can't say my outfit agreed!

We dug out and filled her sandbox with brand new clean sand.  She loves to play in it every day.

Her friend Lucy from my mothers group got her a phone for her birthday.  E loves taking and receiving calls on it.

Then on Tuesday the 10th of July she started taking her first steps.  Here is a small video of the first ones:

Here she is cruising a little more:

On the 21st her cousin Alex turned 1 as well so we took happy birthday pictures.  It's hard to get a 1 year old to focus.

And then we went to my company picnic at Knott's Berry Farms.  Here she is with A outside the park.

We all got to ride the carousel

E loved being able to walk around and play with her clapper while Daddy waited in line to ride the big kid rides.

Here is a movie of her walking skills:

Then at the end of the month we got to go to another friends 1st birthday party and E had a lot of fun "helping" J open his presents.

The more mobile she gets the more "fun" she seems to have.

Then last night we got to go to the Redondo Beach Pier for their Summer Music Festival and see a band play called the "Classic Rock Cougars."  A went to school with their dummer.E had lots of fun people watching, dancing, and watching the ocean.

I think that is all caught up, but last but not least her 1 year old stats:

On July 10th she was:

Weight: 19lbs 6oz - 43 percentile

Height: 29.5in - 61 percentile

Head: 17.75in - 54 percentile

So, she is pretty much hitting smack dab in the middle of the growth carts.  However, when we went to her monthly hematologist appointment, about two weeks after her pedi appointment, and used the standing scale she weighed 20lbs, even.

Keep on growing little one, we'll keep on loving you, and enjoying every day, minute, and hour we get to share!
